I have always been fascinated with photos, I guess it started with my Grandfather, who would show me old photo albums of family trips he had shot with various medium format cameras. There is a certain antique aspect that makes the photos interesting. Whether it was their odd shape making composition difficult or the lack of technology in the emulsion of the film or the processing, old photos seem to have a certain romanticism that current digital work lacks. Scanning old negatives and Turing them into digital files inspired me to find a way to do this in photoshop. Scanning through photoshop magazines I came across an action that creates the effect of old film here is finished product with a film border I scanned from a 1978 negative.
